Passionate About Sustainability – A love for eco-friendly and non-toxic cleaning is a plus!
Physically Capable – Cleaning is an active job! Must be able to lift 30 lbs and clean 2-3 homes per day (with a team).
Requirements for Independent Contractors
Reliable Vehicle – A valid driver’s license and current insurance are required so you can safely and legally travel to client homes.
All Collaborators must have reliable transportation that allows them to arrive at job sites independently and on time. For liability and client trust reasons, we do not permit non-staff individuals (e.g., friends, family members, or partners) to accompany contractors to job sites or wait outside client homes.
We recognize that not everyone has access to a personal vehicle. If you're using a shared or borrowed vehicle, please ensure that:
You can still meet arrival time expectations consistently
Your schedule isn’t dependent on someone else’s availability
You do not bring anyone with you to the job site
Accurate & Timely Communication – Clear, professional communication is key to maintaining strong relationships. Contractors are expected to respond promptly and provide updates as needed.
Basic Tech Skills – We currently use Google Calendar, Spreadsheets, and Slack for coordination. A new, streamlined platform will be introduced soon, and access details will be provided so you can familiarize yourself at your own pace.
Zoom Access – Zoom is required for our initial interview. After onboarding, we offer optional weekly virtual check-ins for those who enjoy staying connected and collaborating with others on the team.
Liability Insurance – Independent Contractors are required to carry business liability insurance within 30 days of starting. During the initial period, a member of our Quality Assurance team or a W-4 employee will be present, and Karma Diva’s insurance will provide coverage as needed. However, proof of coverage is required before accepting solo work or continuing beyond the first renewal period.
Approved Cleaning Products – Contractors must use supplies that align with the eco-friendly product list advertised to our clients. Karma Diva may provide approved products during your first 30 days, if needed, giving you time to start earning before investing in your complete supply kit. Any alternative products must be approved in advance.

As an Independent Contractor, you are responsible for:
Your taxes and work-related expenses
Managing your schedule and availability
Supplying your cleaning tools and products, following Karma Diva’s approved product list
Pay, Contracts & Growth Path
1st Month (Trial Period)
At the end of your first full month, you are eligible for another $0.50/hr raise, and we sign a 3-month independent contractor agreement.
3-Month Review
Within this period, you can earn another $0.50/hr raise as we gain confidence working together.
6-Month Check-Ins
After 3 months, we move into 6-month agreements, creating a built-in opportunity for connection, feedback, and growth twice a year.

How to get your foot in the door:
Collaborators who submit their Contractor Success Guide Acknowledgment and complete the Contractor Agreement Questionnaire will be considered ready to hire following a successful interview.
If you’ve never worked as an Independent Contractor before, we’ll ask you to please read over our Independent Contractor Welcome Guide and sign our corresponding Acknowledgment Form.
These two steps help us ensure alignment with expectations, professionalism, and mutual clarity before deciding to move forward.
